Irene Rowe Memorial Prize for Excellence in Home Economics

The Irene Rowe Memorial Grant has been established in memory of Irene Rowe, one of first Home Economics teaching graduates in the state of South Australia. This grant has been established to financially support pre-service Home Economics teachers in the completion of their studies. The grant will be offered to two students enrolled in the second or third year of the Bachelor of Education (Design and Technology Education), Home Economics strand. Award of the grants will be based on demonstrated commitment to Home Economics teaching through academic performance and a written statement.

The grant will be offered to two students enrolled in the second or third year of the Bachelor of Education (Design and Technology Education), Home Economics strand. The top five students in the second and third years of the program (by overall GPA) will be invited to submit personal statements (maximum 700 words) covering their career and personal aspirations and their vision for the Home Economics teaching profession. The selection panel will choose two recipients based on these statements.
