Human Rights and Social Justice

Human Rights and Social Justice are core areas of enquiry throughout the CSC research program. Our focus is on historical and contemporary relations of power that both marginalise and strengthen resilience. Our recent projects include:

  • Social enterprise and its contribution to building Indigenous communities
  • Improving mental health among young Indigenous people using social media
  • The role of Aboriginal controlled boarding house facilities in enhancing remote education for  secondary students
  • Examination of the effectiveness of anti-bullying strategies for young Indigenous adults
  • Race, immigration and asylum seekers
  • Critiquing legislative frameworks and social justice for social justice outcomes in social work
