At the City East campus (Map: opens new window) the Library is located in the historic Brookman Building. This imposing Federation-Gothic structure made of local bluestone and bricks and located on the corner of North Terrace and Frome Road is an Adelaide landmark. It was opened in 1903 as a preparatory school for students entering the School of Mines (predecessor to the South Australian Institute of Technology and the University of South Australia).
