Pridham Hall frequently asked questions

General

1. When will Pridham Hall Gym, Fitness Studio, Pool and Multi-Sport Courts be opened for use?

The gym, fitness studio, pool and multi-sport courts will be open from mid-May 2018. This will follow the first UniSA graduations ceremonies to be held at Pridham Hall in mid-April 2018.

2. Who will be running the sport, fitness and aquatic programs at Pridham Hall?

UniSA Sport, a department of University of South Australia will be running all sporting activities in the gym, pool and multi-sport courts.

3. Where is Pridham Hall Located?

4. What are the operating hours?

  • Monday – Friday, 6am – 9pm
  • Saturday, 8am – 6pm
  • Sunday, 9am – 5pm
  • Public Holidays - Closed

**Please note these times may be extended due to facility bookings and regular sporting programs

5. What sporting, fitness and aquatic programs will be available?

Pridham Hall will offer a fully equipped gym, group fitness room, five lane 25m indoor pool, two multi-sport courts and a rock climbing wall. More information on the programs on offer and start dates will be available on the UniSA Sport website from late April 2018.

6. Will there be showers and locker available?

Yes showers and lockers are available on site.

Memberships

1. How can I become a member?

Pre-Sale Memberships will be available for purchase late April 2018. Further information on membership release dates will be available on the UniSA Sport website from late April 2018.

2. How much will programs & memberships cost?

All pricing structures and membership options will available on the UniSA Sport website at the end of April 2018. Memberships will include full access to the gym, all the group fitness programs and swimming pool. UniSA Students can expect great membership discounts.

3. Do I have to be a UniSA student/staff to join as a member?

No, everyone will be welcome to join as a member, but UniSA students will be given first priority to purchase memberships, followed by staff and alumni.

4. Will direct debit memberships be an option?

Yes, you will be able to purchase your membership either by a fortnightly direct debit or paying upfront for a selected period.

5. I am an existing UniSA Sport gym member, will I get access to Pridham Hall under my current membership?

Unfortunately no, Pridham Hall memberships will be slightly more expensive than your current membership. However, existing gym members will have the option to upgrade their membership to include Pridham Hall access for around $2.00 extra per week. This can only be done at Pridham Hall once sport opens in mid-May.

6. If I become a member of Pridham Hall, can I use the gyms on Magill, City East & Mawson Lakes campus?

Yes, Pridham Hall membership will give you unlimited access to all UniSA Sport facilities including: Magill gym & pool, City East gym and Mawson Lakes gym.

7. What membership options will be available?

Option 1: Pridham Hall Full Access – This membership will give you unlimited access to the gym, pool and group fitness classes at Pridham Hall. You will also get access to Magill gym & pool, City East gym and Mawson Lakes gym.

Option 2: Pridham Hall Aquatic Only - This membership will give you unlimited access to lap/casual swimming and aquarobics in Pridham Hall Swimming Pool. Swimming Lessons will be an extra charge.

Option 3: Existing UniSA Sport Gym Membership – This is the existing UniSA Sport gym membership available and will give you unlimited access to the gyms on Magill, City East and Mawson Lakes campuses. This membership does not include access to Pridham Hall.

Gym & Fitness Studio

1. Will you be offering group fitness classes?

Yes, we will be offering a number of group fitness classes every day, these will be available before work, at lunch time and after work hours.

2. Will someone be around to show me how to use the gym equipment?

Yes, the gym will always be staffed with a fully qualified gym instructor which will be able to assist you with any questions. You will also have the option to have a free 1on1 gym induction when you sign up as a member.

3. Do I have to be a member to use the gym?

No, we will have an option that will enable you to pay per visit.

Multi-Sport Courts

1. How can I book a court casually?

The amount of “casual bookings” of the multi-sport courts will be limited. We expect that majority of the time the courts will be available for UniSA student/staff and the delivery of structured and unstructured sporting competitions. More information on court availabilities will be on the UniSA website by late April 2018.   

2. Will you be running social sport programs?

Yes, we will be aiming to run social sporting programs from July. We will be taking expressions of interest for social sport once the facility is open from May 2018.

3. Will any clubs be based at Pridham Hall?

A number of UniSA Sport Clubs will be based wholly or predominantly at Pridham Hall. These include UniSA Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, Lacrosse, Rock Climbing, Table Tennis, Judo, Taekwondo and Iajitsu & Kendo clubs

Aquatic

1. Will I be able to swim laps in the pool? Do I have to book a lane?

The pool will be available for lap swimming for the majority of the opening hours. You will not have to book a lane to swim laps.

2. Do I have to be a member to use the pool?

No, we will have an option that will enable you to pay per visit.

3. Will the pool be offering swimming lessons for children and adults?

Yes, we will be offering swimming lessons for both children and adults. More information on the swimming program will be available on the website from late April 2018.
