The Socially Sustainable Health Research Centre (SSHRC)
is a University recognised and funded Research Centre of excellence. Research programs of the centre include:-

Vision
To develop and maintain a level of excellence in research into nursing and health care
that is recognised both nationally and internationally as equal to world best practice
Objectives
- To contribute to the ongoing improvement of the health status of the community through
research activities
- To target research which addresses national needs (and where relevant international
needs) within the priority area of Health
- To promote scholarship and encourage debate by conveying research findings and
activities through books, journals, conferences, seminar programs and exchange programs
- To consult consumers and seek direction in the development of consumer driven research
- To form alliances with industry, community groups, business and the
professions to inform the provision of quality health care
- To provide a focus of research expertise and supervisory experience for postgraduate
research students
