A double-degree in marketing and international studies at UniSA was a rewarding choice for Ella Ward, the 2010 recipient of the Ehrenberg Scholarship for marketing.
First year student Ella Ward received the prestigious scholarship based on her outstanding academic achievements in both language and science based subjects at high school.
Marketing appealed to Ward because she wanted to choose an area of study with lots of future opportunities and where knowledge was developing.
"It's a forever changing industry and a great way to ensure that I'm constantly learning and engaging in new ways of thinking" said Ella.
Her passion for marketing and her desire to continue studying Japanese made a double-degree in marketing with international studies an obvious choice for her.
"This degree will provide me with a competitive edge in the industry and hopefully give me the opportunity to study overseas," she said.
Ella, who has just started the Bachelor of Management (Marketing)/Bachelor of Arts (International Studies), graduated from King's Baptist Grammar School in 2009 with a TER of 95.7 and certificates of academic excellence in psychology, English studies and Japanese.
The Ehrenberg Scholarship is awarded annually to an outstanding student enrolled in one of the three undergraduate degrees offered by the School of Marketing.
As well as a year of paid HECS-fees, recipients are offered paid, part-time work assisting the Marketing Scientists at the Ehrenberg-Bass Institute with academic and industry-focused research projects.
Ward will also get direct entry into the School of Marketing master-classes which are invitation-only seminars held each semester for high achieving students.
"The scholarship is a great opportunity to get my foot in the door, meet some influential and inspiring people, and see the theory I'm learning being utilised practically within the workforce," she said.
Since its inception the undergraduate marketing scholarship, awarded by the Ehrenberg-Bass Institute for Marketing Science, has had 11 recipients.
