The Samstag Museum is closed on Sunday, Monday, public holidays and during exhibition changeovers. The Museum may consider requests to open outside normal exhibition opening hours, please contact the Museum.
The Samstag Museum is located at the University of South Australia's City West campus and it is an easy 5 minute walk from the city centre. The City West precinct is home to the Lion Arts Centre and a concentration of galleries, cinemas and other arts organisations. These include the Australian Experimental Art Foundation, JamFactory, Nexus Multicultural Arts Centre, Media Resource Centre, Mercury Cinema, AC Arts, Lightsquare Gallery, Architecture Museum and the SASA Gallery.
Free City trams (stop City West) to the UniSA City West campus and Lion Arts Centre operate every day.
Trams operate from Victoria Square and the Entertainment Centre along North Terrace to the Samstag Museum, UniSA City West campus/Lion Arts Centre terminus (stop City West).

The Samstag Museum does not provide parking. Parking may be found outside or near the Samstag Museum, along North Terrace, or in the City West Parking Station on Hindley Street, opposite the University's City West campus southern entry. Entry to the parking station is off Clarendon Street.

The Samstag Museum is committed to ensuring its programs and activities are accessible to everyone. All public areas are easily accessible by wheelchair. Visitors who have other special requirements should contact the Samstag Museum.
There are several reasonably priced licensed cafés and bars near the Museum.
