AC Arts Light Square Gallery - Opening Night Celebration - Exit the 2014 Bachelor of Visual Art and Design Graduate Exhibition from 6pm.

Mercury Cinema will screen the closing film in the Patricia Highsmith retrospective, Ripley’s Game (Dir. Liliana Cavani, 2002, starring Ray Winstone and John Malkovich). Special $5 admission for Art After Dark, incl. a complimentary glass of wine from 6:30pm

In-Habit Artist Workshop with the Aquilizans 
A one hour workshop with In-Habit artists Alfredo and Isabel Aquilizan at Samstag Museum of Art.  The workshop offered a rare opportunity to work directly with the Filipino-born, Brisbane-based artists, the Aquilizans, to construct cardboard house sculptures that became a part of the growing In-Habit installation in Samstag.

Lunchtime forum in the Allan Scott Auditorium presented by the South Australian School of Art where visiting artists Alfredo and Isabel Aquilizan discussed their work and practice.

In-Habit ‘art station’ in Kerry Packer Civic Gallery

To coincide with the Kerry Packer Civic Gallery’s exhibition SA Refugee Week 2014: Youth Poster Awards, visitors are invited to drop by the Civic Gallery and create cardboard sculptures of houses and other dwellings that will contribute to Alfredo and Isabel Aquilizan’s In-Habit exhibition at Samstag Museum. Art station open Monday to Friday from 11am until 4pm.

ART AFTER DARK launch events

Samstag Museum of Art and Kerry Packer Civic Gallery invite you to the launch of Dowie Doole’s new limited edition range of red wine Fruit of the Vine and selected white wines, while taking in exhibitions and world music by Silk Road Express from 5pm.

Australian Experimental Art Foundation invite you to the launch of two exhibitions, Synonyms for Savages by Madison Bycroft and OdradekAEAF Performing Identity: Jenna Pippett, curated by Eleanor Scicchitano, from 6pm.

A good movie is hard to top but the guaranteed way to do it is by adding wine and delicious cheese. From 6.30pm before the screening of Sideways (MA) at Mercury Cinema, sample some of the Chaffey Bros' "minimal intervention" Barossa and Eden Valley wines. Film screens at 7:15pm as part of Adelaide Cinematheque at Mercury Cinema. Membership required.

Yalumba is Australia's oldest family owned winery and with a style all of their own, each wine has been influenced by a diverse range of elements Make sure you stop by Nexus Multicultural Art Centre for the full Yalumba wine tasting experience. 

From 5pm watch glass blowing to the sounds of DJ OCK and sample wines by Seppelstfield Estate at JamFactory.

Slow Art Day at the Samstag
One day each year – April 12 in 2014 – people all over the world visit local museums and galleries to look at art slowly. Participants look at five works of art for 10 minutes each and then meet together over lunch to talk about their experience. That’s it. Simple by design, the goal is to focus on the art and the art of seeing.

Presented in association with Worlds in Collision, Artists’ Week 2014 is a three-day forum that considers visions of enlightenment, ways of imagining alternatives, art politics and subcultures, and considerations of technological and psychedelic thinking. Artists’ Week 2014 is convened by Lars Bang Larsen and Richard Grayson.
