Samstag Museum of Art, University of South Australia is delighted to announce Fiona Hall as the Venice artist for Australia's new Pavilion in 2015! Erica Green, Samstag Museum Director said "to be nominated as the Australian artist at the acclaimed Venice Biennale is one of the great honours of Australian visual arts culture; that honour is amplified in 2015 when Fiona Hall will be the first artist to open the new Australian Pavilion in the Giardini della Biennale (the Biennale Gardens). In 2012 the University of South Australia awarded Fiona Hall an Honorary Doctorate in recognition of her contribution to Australian visual art and in 2007 a major site specific commission by Hall 'Different Forms of Intelligence' 2007, was launched at the entry of the Samstag Museum of Art and Hawke Building at the University of South Australia's City West campus on North Terrace."
