EXHIBITIONS 2008

Experimenta Playground

29 August – 17 October 2008

Experimenta is Australia's leading contemporary arts organisation dedicated to commissioning, exhibiting and promoting media art. Experimenta Playground is their latest media art exhibition featuring interactive and screen-based artworks that engage the audience in acts of play. It showcases the latest work from Australia's leading media artists alongside selected key media artworks from artists around the globe.

Experimenta Playground re-invents the gallery space as an environment of surprise and delightful discovery. Each of the works selected is intrinsically playful and explores the notion that 'play is a means through which we are able to make sense of the world'.

Featured artists include: Shaun Gladwell (Australia); Jaki Middleton & David Lawrey (Australia); Gavin Sade, Matt Dwyer, Priscilla Bracks (Australia); Angela Barnett, Andrew Buchanan, Darren Ballingall, Christian Rubino, Chris Mackellar (Australia); Jennifer & Kevin McCoy (USA); Philip Worthington (UK); Hiraki Sawa (Japan/UK); June Bum Park (Korea); and Peter Fischli and David Weiss (Switzerland).
