With a wide array of public transport available through Adelaide Metro, people in Adelaide tend to take the bus, train or tram to and from the city centre. If you plan on commuting regularly, you can purchase a Metrocard from Adelaide Metro in the city or at most news agencies. It works out cheaper than purchasing single trip tickets and can be recharged at various locations or at recharging machines located at interchanges and on-board trains and trams. Information regarding Metrocards can be found on the Adelaide Metro website.

Driving in Adelaide is a breeze, as traffic flows freely and traffic jams are a rarity. Early bird pricing for parking within the CBD typically start from $14 and free parking is also available at public transport interchanges, however slots are limited so you need to be sure to get in early. Prior to driving, ensure that you have a valid driver's license, the vehicle is registered and that you understand our road rules.

Adelaide is also a great city for cyclists, as there are plenty of bicycle paths available. Do remember that riding a bicycle (bike) requires a helmet, a bike lock and a street-legal bicycle. There are also plenty of bicycle cages and spaces to park and lock your bike on campuses and around Adelaide. There are two bike pumps in the city to help keep your tyres in good condition too. One is located at 25 Pirie Street, while the other is in Kurangga (Park 20) at the BMX Track on the corner of Unley and Greenhill roads. Bike maintenance stations can also be found at the start of the Frome Bikeway at 59 Regent Street South, near the Box Factory, and features a range of tools, including a pump, Allen keys, screwdrivers, a chain breaker, wrench and shifter spanner.
